Masco raises 2026 EPS guidance 7% on $95M IEEPA tariff refund, masking underlying plumbing volume softness and accelerating commodity inflation in H2.

Masco's Q2 2026 results were dominated by a net $95 million IEEPA tariff refund benefit that drove a 17% operating profit increase and a 26% EPS gain to $1.64, obscuring a 3% net sales decline. Stripping out both the tariff refund and the associated strategic investments, management characterizes underlying North American plumbing as growing low single digits — consistent with full-year guidance — but commodity inflation is accelerating from low single digits in H1 to mid-single digits in H2, with copper and metals cited as primary drivers. The Bristan Group divestiture narrows the international portfolio to Hansgrohe/Axor, and management has increased its capital deployment target for buybacks or M&A to $1 billion for 2026.
